I was just talking to a new business associate about this last week. His company has a QR code going to a non-mobile friendly version of a webpage. When I got there, I was completely taken out of the mobile experience.
When someone uses their smartphone to browse your site, they want to feel like their are browsing on their phone, not fighting your existing desktop site.
There are a lot of ways to create a mobile site, including some that are extremely quick to implement. If your website is not mobile friendly, it should be.
