What a great idea! Security has been on my mind a lot lately. WordPress is extremely popular and, just like anything, as it gets more popular it becomes a sweeter target for hackers and spammers.
There are many ways a WordPress website can be attacked, and having outdated plug-ins can be one of the easiest ways for hackers to get into your website. For most people, this primarily means keeping your plug-ins updated. But, this plug-in focuses more on plug-ins that are no longer maintained by their author.

My rule of thumb is any plug-in that has not been updated in the last year gets a thorough review by me and is usually replaced by another plug-in, or at least heavily monitored moving forward.
