How To Engage A Local Market on Twitter

I had forgotten about this article until this morning! To put it bluntly, I like just about everything Scott says, and I love Twitter. So this article combines two things I really enjoy.

My biggest takeaway from this article is the ease of searching Twitter for potential local customers. Using Twitter’s own search box, you can quickly find (and save) searches. If you find that your Twitter account is starting to gather dust, this is a great way to polish it off and start using it again.

However, make sure to read the entire article, as he also discusses automatic replies and follows. As he mentions in the article, and a few commenters mention below the article, this is a big pet peeve of most people on twitter. Just like you do with your future customers that call you or come to your location, make sure to engage your online customers in a personal way.

After rereading this article this morning, I think one of my resolutions for this year is to help some of my existing customers see the value in Twitter.
