Spice Up Your Articles with Photos! 5 Photo Plugins

Spicy sunday.WPMU (one of my favorite WordPress websites) has a quick review of 5 plugins for adding images to your website – legally.

Now, here’s the thing – I know a lot of people (including myself in the past) who simply go to Google’s image search, type in what they’re looking for, and use those images on their website. I’m not a lawyer, but my basic copyright training from a few years ago told me that this is illegal. But, it is so darn convenient! So, how do we keep the convenience of finding images quickly, but still stay within copyright?

There are two basic solutions to this. The first one is to buy stock photography. I love stock photography, and use it all the time. However, if you’re on an extremely tight budget, or are simply putting together a hobby website, then one of these plug-ins can help you find images to use legally. Using these plug-ins, various services will be searched for images tagged with a “Creative Commons” license, essentially giving you permission to use them in various situations, from hobby and non-profit to for-profit business sites.

Right now, I am particular to Photo Dropper. I have found it easy to use and quick to set up.

So, if you find that you’re great at writing articles, but want to add some extra visual excitement to your articles, check out one of these plug-ins.
